Aciclovir Rompharm belongs to a group of medicines called antivirals and works by stopping the growth of viruses (destroying or stopping the growth of viruses that cause herpes zoster or herpes simplex).
Aciclovir is a specific herpes virus inhibitor with in vitro activity against Herpes simplex viruses (HSV) types 1 and 2 and Varicella zoster virus (VZV).
Acyclovir, a synthetic purine analog of nucleosides, is an antiviral agent with highly selective in vitro and in vivoinhibitory activity against human herpes viruses, including Herpes simplex virus types 1 and 2 and Varicella zoster virus (VZV).
It is used to treat certain herpes virus infections and some forms of Varicella and shingles (a viral disease characterized by a painful skin rash).
